According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, TCU is the clear favorite on the road, as the Horned Frogs are getting odds of -17 points against the Golden Gophers. The over/under total for the game has been set at 57.5 points. These two met last year with TCU picking up a 30-7 win at home, covering what was also a 17-point spread.

TCU is coming off a 12-1 season in 2014 in which it won a share of the Big 12 title with an 8-1 conference record. The Horned Frogs were an impressive 11-2 against the spread last season while going 8-5 with the over. The Horned Frogs have covered the spread in their last 5 non-conference games. TCU comes into Gary Patterson’s 15th season as coach with a chip on its shoulder, feeling like it was robbed of a playoff spot last year. The Frogs have a very talented team, led by quarterback Trevone Boykin, who threw for 3,901 yards and 33 touchdowns while rushing for 707 yards and eight scores in 2014. Boykin is one of the top Heisman candidates this season.

Minnesota was 8-5 last season with a 5-3 Big Ten record. The Golden Gophers were 8-5 against the spread while going 7-6 with the under. The Gophers have covered the spread in four straight on fieldturf coming into tonight. Jerry Kill is in his fifth season as head coach of the team. He is 25-26 in his four year with Minnesota, but is coming off back-to-back 8-5 seasons. The Gophers lost stud running back David Cobb to the NFL, but Kill is hoping quarterback Mitch Leidner can take a step up in play. He had 1,798 passing yards with 11 touchdowns and eight interceptions in 2014.
