Hawaii vs. Ohio State Odds
Coming off a shortened week, is No. 1 Ohio State in danger of a possible slip up against Hawaii when the two meet on Saturday at 3:30PM ET on the Big Ten Network?
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Ohio State has opened as an overwhelming favorite, getting odds of -40 points against Hawaii on Saturday. The over/under total has opened at 59.5 points. These two have no recent meetings, but Hawaii is 9-2 against the spread in its last 11 non-conference games.
Ohio State opened the season on Monday night with a 42-24 win at Virginia Tech, covering a 13.5-point spread while going over the 52-point total. The Buckeyes found themselves down 17-14 at halftime, but had a dominant second half and finished with 572 yards of offense. Cardale Jones was the starting quarterback and he finished with 186 passing yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 99 yards and a score. Braxton Miller had a big debut at H-back as he rushed for 62 yards with a touchdown and caught two passes for 78 yards and another touchdown. On top of that, Ezekiel Elliott also rushed for 122 yards and one touchdown. The defense did allow over 300 yards to the Hokies, but Ohio State gets Joey Bosa back from suspension this week.
Hawaii started the season with a bit of a surprising 28-20 win at home over Colorado. The Warriors were a 7-point underdog coming into the game. The two went under the 60-point total. Hawaii was held to just 302 total yards, but the Warriors forced Colorado into three key turnovers. Max Wittek threw for 202 yards and three touchdowns on 19 of 38 passing to lead Hawaii in the win while Marcus Kemp had six receptions for 116 yards with one touchdown.
