2015 College Football Week 4 CMU vs. Michigan State Picks & Predictions

CMU vs. Michigan State Free Pick

Michigan State failed to cover last week as a heavy home favorite versus Air Force but are the Spartans the play today when they host Central Michigan at 12:00PM ET?

View Today’s College Football Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Spartans are 26-point home favorites over the Chippewas after opening as a 28-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, opened at 54 points and that’s where the number currently sits.

Central Michigan is a perfect 3-0 against the spread this season, with covers coming against Oklahoma State (+21), FCS opponent Monmouth (-20.5), and Syracuse (+8). In fact, the Chippewas lost by only a field goal in their defeat to the Orange last Saturday.

So take CMU at the points, right? Not so fast.

The Chips are averaging just 84 yards per game in 2015 at 2.5 yards per carry. That’s horrible. If they can’t sustain drives then Connor Cook and Co. will score easily on a CMU defense that will be worn down in the second half. Air Force caught the Spartans at a perfect time last week (off an emotional victory over Oregon in a revenge spot the week before), but the Chips won’t have the same fortunate.
