According to oddsmakers from online sports book GT Bets, the Bears are 34.5-point favorites versus the Owls after opening as 32.5-point favorites. The total, meanwhile, sits at 74.5 points after opening at 76.

We know Baylor can put up points, but with the total sitting in the 70s, the question becomes whether or not Rice can contribute to push the combined score over. Owls quarterback Driphus Jackson has completed passes at a 63% clip and has rushed for 7.3 yards per attempt. The Bears have had issues sealing off the perimeter in the early going, so Jackson should be able to move the ball effectively versus Baylor’s defense.

What the trends say: The over is 7-1-1 in Baylor’s last nine games following a bye week and 22-5 in its last 27 games following a straight up win of more than 20 points. The over is also 5-0 in Rice’s last five games in September and 4-1 in its last five games overall.
