UMass vs. Notre Dame Odds
No. 6 Notre Dame seems to get a little bit of a break this week from its tough schedule as it hosts UMass on Saturday at 3:30PM ET on NBC.
According to oddsmakers at MyBookie, Notre Dame is the clear favorite in this game, as the Irish are getting odds of -29 points against the Minutemen. The over/under total for the game has been set at 59 points. These two have no recent meetings but the Irish are just 1-5 against the spread in their last 6 against a team with a losing record.
Notre Dame is 3-0 on the season, 2-1 against the spread and 2-1 with the under. Despite season-ending injuries to its starting QB and RB, the Fighting Irish still pulled out a 30-22 win at home over Georgia Tech last week. The Irish put up 457 yards of offense in the win while holding Tech to 337 total yards. DeShone Kizer threw for 242 yards and one touchdown in his first start while C.J. Prosise had a huge game, rushing for 198 yards and three touchdowns on 22 carries.
UMass is 0-2 on the season, 1-1 against the spread and 1-1 with the over/under total. The Minutemen started the year with a 48-14 loss at Colorado and then suffered a 25-23 loss to Temple at home. The Minutemen are posting 417.5 yards per game thus far on the season, but allowing 508 yards per game to opponents. Blake Frohnapfel has thrown for 618 yards and four touchdowns to lead the offense, but they aren’t getting much from the ground game. The team has only 192 yards in two games and is averaging just 3.6 yards per carry.
