ATHENS, GA (TheSpread) – No. 9 Georgia looks to open the college football season on a high note when it plays host to Louisiana-Monroe at Noon ET on the SEC Network.

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Georgia is the clear favorite in this game, as the Bulldogs are getting odds of -35 points against UL-Monroe. The over/under total for this game has been set at 54 points. These two last met in 2005 with Georgia picking up a 44-7 victory, but UL-Monroe covered a 39.5-point spread.

Georgia is coming off a 10-3 record in the 2014 season with a 6-2 mark in the SEC. The Bulldogs were 8-5 against the spread in 2014 and they hit the over in 9 of their 13 lined totals. Mark Richt is in his 15th season as head coach at UGA and he is 136-48 all-time. The Bulldogs announced that transfer Greyson Lambert will be the starting quarterback for the team in the opener. Lambert spent the last two seasons at Virginia. He had 1,632 passing yards with 10 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 2014.

UL-Monroe was 4-8 overall last season and 3-5 in the Sun Belt Conference. The Warhawks were 5-6-1 against the spread in 2014 while hitting the under in 8 of their 12 lined games. Todd Berry is entering his sixth season as head coach. He is just 27-34 in his previous five seasons and the Warhawks have seen their win total decrease by two games in each of their last two seasons.
