Iowa vs. Michigan Pick
A well-rested Iowa team will head up to Ann Arbor this Saturday to face a Michigan team that was booted from the top-25 after losing to Michigan State last weekend. Read on to check out our picks for this Week 7 matchup.
Before we get to our pick, let’s take a look at the latest point spread for this contest.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SBGGLOBAL.com have made Iowa a 3-point favorite over Michigan in Week 7. The over/under total of this game is currently 54.5.
The Hawkeyes enter this game with a 4-1 overall record, which includes a 3-2 mark against the spread. They’re winless in their only road game of the year, however, and failed to cover as a 2.5-point underdog at Arizona in mid September.
The Wolverines are 5-1 on the year, but have posted a .500 record against the spread at 3-3. They’re 3-1 overall at home, but have only covered in two of those four home games and have allowed an average of 25.5 points per game in those contests.
The Pick:
It’s tempting to make a pick of Michigan because the underdog in this matchup is 8-1 against the number in the last nine overall meetings between these two teams. But Iowa is 12-2 against the spread in their last 14 road games and 4-0 in their last four October games. The Wolverines, meanwhile, are 4-17 ATS in their last 21 conference games and 0-6 ATS in their last six home games versus a team with a winning road record. Michigan State exposed this team last week and Iowa should do the same with its stingy defense. Denard Robinson will have another tough go of things here, as our pick is the Hawkeyes –3.
