Texas vs. Nebraska Pick
It’ll be a different setting between Texas and Nebraska on Saturday than it was the last time these two teams met in the Big 12 Championship last season. Read on for our picks of this Week 7 college football matchup.
Before we get to our picks, let’s take a look at the latest odds for this game.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made Nebraska a 9.5-point favorite over Texas in Week 7. The over/under total for this game is currently 46.5 points.
Although the Longhorns still post a winning record at 3-2, they’ve really struggled this year – especially against the spread, where they’re 1-4. The good news is that they won and covered in their only other road game this year (24-14 at Texas Tech), but the bad news is that they’re running into a buzz saw in Nebraska right now.
The Cornhuskers are 5-0 on the year, although they’re just 2-2-1 against the spread. They’re 3-0 at home, but 0-2-1 against the number in Lincoln, where they’ve failed to cover against Idaho and San Diego State. (They also pushed in Week 1 against Western Kentucky as a 39-point favorite.)
The Pick:
We think this will be the week Nebraska gets its first cover at home. Texas is 1-4-1 against the spread in the lat six meetings between these two teams and is 0-3-1 ATS in the last four games played in Nebraska. The home team, on the other hand, is 5-1-1 against the spread in their last seven meetings and don’t forget that the Huskers will also be looking to exact a message of revenge on the Horns after Texas squeaked by them in the Big 12 title game to advance to the national championship.
As a bonus pick, we’re also recommending the under, which is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 5-1 in the Cornhuskers’ last six games following an ATS win.
