Alabama favored to win first College Football Playoff as field announced

LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) – The field for the first College Football Playoff has been set and Alabama enters the field of four as the favorite to claim the title.

Alabama was made the No. 1 seed for the four-team field and it will face No. 4 Ohio State in the Sugar Bowl on Jan. 1. The Buckeyes made a jump up from No. 5 to No. 4, passing TCU, which fell from No. 3 to No. 6 despite a win of over 50 points on Saturday.

In the other semifinal, No. 2 Oregon will face No. 3 Florida State in the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. The Ducks claimed the Pac-12 title while FSU won the ACC Championship and is the unbeaten defending champion. The two semifinal winners will meet in the championship game

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Alabama is the favorite to win the playoff, as the Tide have odds of +125 to win it all. Oregon comes in with +160 odds while Ohio State has a money line of +550 and Florida State has odds of +750.
