Who is the Public Backing?

As of this writing, 65% of the betting public is on the Crimson Tide and 64% of the money is also on Alabama to cover the point spread. As for the total, the action is split, with 50% of betting tickets on the over and 50% of the betting tickets on the under. That said, 55% of the money is on the under.

Injury Report

For Alabama, offensive lineman Lester Cotton Sr. is out with a knee injury and the team will be without linebackers Anfernee Jennings (knee, out) and, most-likely, Shaun Dion Hamilton (knee, doubtful).

On the other side, Natrez Patrick (disciplinary) is questionable for Georgia and so are defensive backs Deangelo Gibbs (undisclosed) and Latavious Brini (disciplinary). Tight end Charlie Woerner is doubtful with an ankle injury.

OUR PREDICTION: Alabama has the No. 1 rated defense in terms of total yards allowed, rushing yards allowed, and points allowed per game. The Crimson Tide are also third in passing yards allowed, surrendering a microscopic 160.6 PY per game.

Georgia hasn’t been as sound defensively as Alabama but that’s taking nothing away from a Bulldog defense that was outstanding in 2017. The Dawgs rank sixth in total yards allowed, eighth in passing yards allowed, 20th in rushing yards allowed, and fifth in points allowed per game at 15.7.

Alabama has struggled mightily at times because of quarterback Jalen Hurts, who can run well but doesn’t see the field good enough to be a skillful passer. The Tide will need to rely on its running game and defense to pound out a victory and the same goes for Georgia. Will a consistent running clock, I like this game to be low-scoring.
