Are the trends supporting Missouri in the SEC title game vs. Alabama?

SEC Championship Trends

ATLANTA, GA (The Spread) – Everyone expects No. 1 Alabama to hammer No. 14 Missouri in the SEC Championship on Saturday, but do the trends support that theory?

View Current College Football Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Alabama is the clear favorite in the SEC Championship, as the Tide are getting odds of -14.5 points against Missouri in Saturday’s 4PM ET kickoff (View Matchup). The over/under total for the game is listed at 48.5 points.

These two don’t have much recent history to go on. They last met in 2012 with Alabama picking up a 42-10 road win, covering a 21-point spread in the process. The Tide dominated the game, out-gaining Missouri 533-129 in total offense.

The recent trends seem to indicate that Missouri has the edge against the spread, as Alabama is just 4-11 ATS in its last 16 overall and 1-4 ATS in its last 5 games on fieldturf. Missouri is 13-3 against the spread in its last 16 games against a team with a winning record and 19-6-1 ATS in its last 26 games overall.
