ASU favored over Duke in Sun Bowl
EL PASO, TX (The Spread) – Both Duke and No. 15 Arizona State look to claim a 10th win in 2014 when they meet today at 2PM ET in the 2014 Sun Bowl.

Arizona State is coming off a 42-35 to Arizona to end the regular season. The Sun Devils dropped two of their last three to finish the regular season at 9-3 overall and 6-3 in the Pac-12. ASU went 6-6 against the spread this year, but was just 2-3 ATS in its last five games while hitting the over in three of its last four.
Duke ended the season with a 41-21 win over Wake Forest. However, that win snapped a two-game losing streak for the Blue Devils, who were in contention in the ACC prior to those losses. The Blue Devils finished the season 9-3 overall and 5-3 in the ACC. Duke is 7-4-1 against the spread for the season, covering the spread in their last seven wins and failing to cover in their last three losses. Duke has hit the under in six of their last eight as well.
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Arizona State is the clear favorite in this game, as the Sun Devils are getting odds of -7.5 points against Duke. The over/under total for the game has been set at 64.5 points (View Matchup). These two have no recent meetings.
The focus of this game will be on Duke’s strong passing defense going up against Arizona State’s pass attack. The Sun Devils are averaging 276.3 yards per game through the air this season, while the Blue Devils are allowing just 204 passing yards per game. Taylor Kelly has missed part of the season with injuries, but when he has played, he has thrown for 1,874 yards and 20 touchdowns. He has thrown just five interceptions for the season as well.
