According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Arizona is the favorite on the road in this game, as the Wildcats are getting odds of -11.5 points against Nevada. The over/under total for the game has been set at 62 points. These two have met twice in the last three years. The Wildcats won both games, but the Wolf Pack covered the spread in both cases.

Arizona opened the season at home and picked up a 42-32 win over Texas-San Antonio. The Wildcats were listed as a 32.5-point favorite for the game, but they did manage to hit the over of 59 points. Arizona struggled on defense without its leader Scooby Wright, as it allowed 525 yards to UTSA. The Arizona offense only had 392 yards of offense. Anu Solomon threw for 229 yards and four touchdowns to lead Arizona while Nick Wilson rushed for 97 yards on 22 carries. Johnny Jackson added eight receptions for 101 yards and one touchdown.

Nevada started the season with a 31-17 win over UC-Davis. The Wolf Pack failed to cover a 23.5-point spread in the win and they also went under the 59.5-point total. The game was pretty evenly matched as Nevada only had a 395-327 yards advantage in total offense, but the key was 232 rushing yards for the Wolf Pack. Don Jackson led the ground game with 124 yards and two touchdowns while quarterback Tyler Stewart had 163 passing yards and one score to go along with 43 rushing yards and one touchdown.
