Arizona Wildcats Game Notes

Noah Fifita replaced Jayden de Laura as the QB1 last week versus Washington, and he played pretty well, going 27/39 for 232 yards, with three touchdowns to one interception. The freshman quarterback managed to hold his own with Michael Penix and the high-powered Huskies, and he’ll somehow face an even fiercer matchup here in Coliseum against Caleb Williams and the Trojans.

USC Trojans Game Notes

Caleb Williams showed up big time in Boulder with a 403-yard, six-touchdown performance in the win over Colorado. The junior quarterback gave all of the scouts and celebrities at Folsom what they came to see, and he’ll look to further his Heisman case this weekend against the Wildcats. Williams has passed for 1.603 yards with 21 touchdowns to just one interception through five starts.

The total has gone UNDER in 5 of Arizona’s last 5 games

The over/under has gone UNDER in 4 of Arizona’s last 5 games on the road

USC is 5-0 SU in its last 5 games

The Trojans are 5-0 SU in its last 5 games when playing at home against Arizona

Arizona vs. USC Betting Prediction

Arizona will come into the Coliseum with a true freshman at quarterback, and this feels like a spot to lean on USC’s strengths. Caleb Williams should have little trouble carving up the Wildcats defense, and after a pair of relatively close finishes on the road, they may be looking to pull off an assertive win here at home. How well the Trojans defense fares in the second half will factor heavily into them covering, but this one should come down to a matter of how much. Back USC for this Pac-12 battle.

Arizona vs. USC Prediction: USC Trojans -21
