Army vs. Navy College Football Predictions Against the Spread 12/9/17

Army vs. Navy Prediction

After snapping their 14-game losing streak last season, will the Army Black Knights make it two in a row against the Navy Midshipmen when the service academies play today at 3:00 p.m. ET?

ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Navy. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Midshipmen are 3-point favorites versus the Black Knights, who opened as 3.5-point underdogs. As for the total, the number hit the board at 54 but has dropped all the way down to 45.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: As of Saturday morning, 52% of the tickets are on the Midshipmen but 72% of the money is on the Black Knights.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: The under and the Black Knights. The under is 13-3 in the last 16 meetings between these two teams. The Black Knights have also covered the spread in five of their last six games against the Midshipmen while the underdog has cashed in five of the last six meetings.

WHO WE LIKE: Army. This is one of the view years where the Black Knights actually have a better record than the Midshipmen coming into this game. Army is 6-1 straight up entering this game while Navy is on a 1-5 skid. The Black Knights are also 6-2 against the spread in their last eight games in December, are 13-6 against the number in their last 19 games after allowing more than 40 points in their previous game and have covered in four of their last five games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game. On the other side, the Midshipmen are 1-3-2 against the spread in their last six games after accumulating more than 200 yards in their previous game.

Navy has been the more undisciplined team this year in terms of turnovers and penalties. Their defense has also been an issue this season so I’ll take the points in a game where Army could win outright.
