WRs to dominate in Bahamas?
Two of the top receivers in college football are on display in today’s Bahamas Bowl when Western Michigan takes on Middle Tennessee.
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Western Michigan is favored in today’s bowl game, as the Broncos are getting odds of -5 points against the Blue Raiders. The over/under total for the game has been set at 65 points. These two meet today at Noon ET on ESPN from Thomas Robinson Stadium in the Bahamas.
This game should be a pretty good display of offense, especially in the air, as each team has a 1,200-yard receiver. Middle Tennessee (7-5, 8-4 ATS) brings Richie James to the field. Just a freshman, the 5-9 receiver has 100 receptions for 1,220 yards and six touchdowns in his first season with the Blue Raiders. He has had at least 70 yards in all but one game this season and has four games over 100 yards. He also has had at least 6 receptions in each game.
Western Michigan (7-5, 7-5 ATS) counters with Daniel Braverman, a 5-10 junior receiver. He has 103 receptions for 1,266 yards and 12 touchdowns this season. Braverman has been over 50 yards in every games this year and over 100 seven times. He has five games with double-digit receptions and has had at least four catches in each game this year.
When it comes to slowing down a pass game, Middle Tennessee hasn’t been great. The Blue Raiders rank 93rd nationally in pass defense, allowing 246.7 yards per game. Western Michigan is slightly better, allowing 224.8 yards per game, but the Broncos aren’t known for shutting down offenses.
