Sooners look to beat Baylor again
The Sooners have won four straight coming into this game, including a 34-16 win at Oklahoma State last weekend and the 34-31 win at Baylor. Oklahoma is 11-1 on the season, 8-1 in the Big 12, 5-7 against the spread and 6-5-1 with the under.
The Sooners remain the highest-producing offense in the nation with 564.3 yards per game. That has led to a 44.3-point per game average. Defensively, Oklahoma is allowing 24.7 points and 336.8 yards per game. Jalen Hurts has had a great season under center. He has thrown for 3,347 yards and 31 touchdowns while also rushing for 1,217 yards and 18 touchdowns. Kennedy Brooks has added 917 rushing yards with four scores while CeeDee Lamb is the leading receiver with 50 catches for 1,035 yards and 14 touchdowns.
Bears rally after loss to OU
Since suffering a 34-31 loss at home to Oklahoma, Baylor has bounced back with double-digit wins over Texas and Kansas over the last two weeks. The Bears are 11-1 on the season, 8-1 in the Big 12, 8-4 against the spread and 6-6 with the over/under total.
The Bears have been a pretty balanced team this season, as the defense is allowing just 18.4 points and 352.8 yards per game, while the offense is putting up 36.2 points and 445.1 yards per game. Charlie Brewer is leading the offense with 2,935 passing yards and 20 touchdowns while rushing for 340 yards and 10 scores. John Lovett and JaMycal Hasty each have about 600 rushing yards while combining for 12 touchdowns. Denzel Mims is the leading receiver with 61 catches for 945 yards and 11 scores. James Lynch is leading the defense with 34 tackles and 10.5 sacks.
College Football Betting Trends
Oklahoma
The Sooners are just 4-10 against the spread in their last 14 games at a neutral site and 2-5 ATS in their last seven games following a win.
Baylor
The Bears are 10-1 against the spread in their last 11 games in December and 8-1 ATS in their last nine against a winning team.
Prediction:
The Sooners have won five straight over Baylor, covering the spread in three of those five wins. Baylor had Oklahoma beaten in the first half of their meeting this year, but the Sooners made adjustments and Baylor did not. I think Oklahoma can continue to exploit what worked in the first meeting. The Sooners have the more explosive offense and will be fast on the indoor track in Dallas. Baylor got a little afraid of the big time against Oklahoma the first time and I think the Bears will be intimidated by the big lights of this game early. I expect Oklahoma to come out and make a statement in hopes of securing another playoff bid.
