Baylor still perfect
The Baylor Bears are now a perfect 8-0 following a 17-14 win at home over West Virginia a week ago. Baylor is 5-0 in the Big 12, 4-4 against the spread and 4-4 with the over/under total.
Baylor has been pretty solid on both sides of the ball this year, but their defense has been a big surprise. The Bears are giving up just 18.5 points and 341.1 yards per game this season. The offense is putting up 36.1 points and 480.2 yards per contest. Charlie Brewer has thrown for 2,143 yards and 14 touchdowns to lead the offense while Denzel Mims has 38 catches for 618 yards and six scores. Mims comes into this game questionable due to an upper body injury. John Lovett is the team’s leading rusher with 495 yards and four touchdowns.
TCU falls at Oklahoma State
The TCU Horned Frogs are coming off a 34-27 loss at Oklahoma State last week, a week after beating Texas. The Frogs have now lost three of their last four games to drop to 4-4 on the season and 2-3 in the Big 12. They are 3-5 against the spread and 5-3 with the over.
TCU also has some pretty respectable numbers on offense and defense. The TCU offense is averaging 33.4 points and 441.8 yards per game, while the defense is giving up 26.1 points and 326.2 yards per contest. Max Duggan has thrown for 1,405 yards and 12 touchdowns this season to lead the offense. He also has rushed for 319 yards and four touchdowns. Darius Anderson is the team’s leading rusher with 667 yards and six touchdowns, while Jalen Reagor is the leading receiver with 32 catches for 454 yards and four scores. Reagor is questionable to play this week due to a back injury. Trevon Moehrig is leading the defense with 41 tackles and four interceptions.
College Football Betting Trends
Baylor
The Bears have hit the under in four straight game sin November and in seven of their last nine conference games.
TCU
The Horned Frogs have hit the over in four straight games on grass and in five of their last six conference games.
Prediction:
TCU has won four straight in this series and the two have hit the over in six of their last eight encounters. Both of these teams have been pretty solid defensively and TCU has had its best defensive efforts at home. They held Texas to 27 and Kansas to just 14. Baylor’s defense has been able to stand most tests, including Oklahoma State, so I don’t expect TCU to really light them up. I look for this game to be a defensive battle and for touchdown drives to be somewhat hard to come by. I like the under, as TCU will need it to be low-scoring to win.
