Bettors love MSU to cover spread vs. Iowa
If you favor Michigan State over Iowa at the betting window, don’t wait to take the Spartans until Saturday because you may not like where the line moves.

Our College Football Public Betting page shows that 77% of public bettors are currently backing Michigan State to cover the spread in Saturday night’s Big Ten Championship Game versus Iowa. According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the line for the title game opened at Spartans -3 but is already up to 3.5.
The Spartans are 11-1 on the season, with their lone loss coming to Nebraska a few weeks ago. But despite their outstanding record, they’re just 5-7 against the spread in their 12 games this year, including 5-5 ATS over their last five. Their biggest victory came two weeks ago when they knocked off previously unbeaten Ohio State as a 14.5-point road underdog in Columbus.
Even though they’re currently ranked in the top 5 both in the AP polls and last week’s college football playoff rankings, the Hawkeyes aren’t getting much respect from bettors. The general consensus is that they haven’t beaten any opponent of note and that their 12-0 record is somehow flawed. With well over 70% of bettors taking MSU on Saturday, perhaps there’s a ton of value in Iowa to once again frustrate the public.
