Nebraska vs. Wisconsin Pick

Who has the edge in the battle of two of the best in the Big Ten West when No. 11 Wisconsin hosts No. 7 Nebraska on Saturday at 7PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Wisconsin is the favorite at home in this game, as the Badgers are getting odds of -8.5 points against Nebraska. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 43 points. Wisconsin has won and covered the spread in four of its five meetings with Nebraska since the Huskers joined the Big Ten.

Wisconsin got back to winning last week when it picked up a 17-9 win at Iowa to move to 5-2on the season and 2-2 in the Big Ten. The Badgers have had both of their Big Ten losses come against Ohio State and Michigan. They are also 6-1 against the spread this season. The Badgers are led by their powerful defense that is giving up just 14.3 points and 300.6 yards per game. They are holding teams to just 102.9 rushing yards per game right now. On offense, Wisconsin hasn’t been too overpowering, averaging just 24.3 points and 382 yards per game. Corey Clement is leading the offense with 617 rushing yards and six touchdowns. The Badgers have been using two quarterbacks as of late but Alex Hornibrook and Bart Houston have combined for just 1,463 passing yards and 8 touchdowns with 8 interceptions.

Bet on Nebraska vs. Wisconsin

Nebraska remained undefeated thanks to a 27-14 win over Purdue last week at home. The Huskers are now 7-0 on the season, 4-0 in the Big Ten and 4-2-1 against the spread. Nebraska brings a solid defense to the field as well, allowing 17.7 points and 342.9 yards per contest. When it comes to offense, the Huskers are putting up 34.1 points and 447.4 yards per game, including 211.4 rushing yards per game. Terell Newby is the leading rusher with 511 yards and four scores while Tommy Armstrong Jr. has added 380 yards on the ground and 1,611 passing yards. Devine Ozigbo has run for 320 yards and four scores this year, but is questionable to play in this game due to an ankle injury. One of the team’s top receivers, Jordan Westerkamp is battling a back injury, but is expected to return to action this week.

This game should be another grind for Wisconsin. The Badgers haven’t overwhelmed many opponents and haven’t been overwhelmed either. Four of their last five games have been decided by 8 points or less. Nebraska hasn’t been too impressive as of late either, failing to pull away from some questionable teams. I sense the Huskers will have a hard time moving the ball on Wisconsin. The Badgers should win this game, but I think it will remain a close game throughout.
