Injury Report
Wide receiver Ventell Bryant (leg) and quarterback Logan Marchi (lower body) are questionable for Akron, while Zach Guiser (concussion) and Warren Ball (leg) are out for the season.
On the other side, Ray Ellis (knee) and Matthew Weiner (knee) are both out for the year for FAU and Harrison Bryant is questionable with an undisclosed injury.
OUR PREDICTION: Over. I fully admit that I’m concerned about Akron providing enough points to help contribute to the over. That said, the over is 4-0 in the Zips’ last four games versus Conference USA opponents and I won’t need many contributions from Akron to push the score over.
The over is also 6-1 in the Owls’ last seven games after allowing more than 280 yards passing in their previous game, is 4-1 in their last five games coming off a win of more than 20 points and 8-3 in their last 11 games coming off any win. In their last seven games coming off a successful cover, the over is 5-2.
Lane Kiffin’s offense is averaging nearly 40 points per game, which ranks ninth in the nation. They have one of the most explosive offenses in the country and Kiffin isn’t ashamed to run up the score. This Owls offense can score at will so it doesn’t make much sense to take the under.
