Boise State vs. Oregon Las Vegas Bowl Predictions Against Spread 12/16/17

Las Vegas Bowl Prediction

Will the Boise State Broncos upset the Oregon Ducks when the two teams meet at 3:30 p.m. ET on Saturday for the Las Vegas Bowl?

ODDSMAKERS LIKE: Oregon. According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Ducks are now 7-point favorites to beat the Broncos, who opened as a 5-point underdog. The total, meanwhile, currently sits at 60 points after hitting the board at 58.5.

THE PUBLIC LIKES: As of Saturday morning, 57% of the betting tickets were on the Broncos and 53% of the money was also on Boise State to cover the spread.

HISTORICAL TRENDS LIKE: The Broncos are 4-1 against the spread in their last five games coming off a win and are 9-3 at the betting window in their last 12 games after scoring less than 20 points in their previous contest. That said, they’re just 2-6 against the spread in their last eight games versus Pac-12 opponents.

The Ducks, meanwhile, are 8-17-1 against the spread in their last 26 games and are 2-5-1 against the number in their last eight non-conference games. Oregon has failed to cover in nine of its last 12 games coming of a win, too.

WHO WE LIKE: Boise State. All the attention is being paid to Oregon quarterback Justin Herbert, who led the Ducks to 52.1 points per games when he was healthy. But the Broncos finished in the top 40 nationally in both scoring offense (32.1) and scoring defense (22.5 allowed). I’ll take the team that plays better defense that is also getting the points. This game will come down to the wire and I’ll gladly take the touchdown to have in my back pocket.
