Broncos stay unbeaten
Boise State is off to a 4-0 start to the season thanks to a 30-19 win over Air Force two weeks ago. The Broncos are 1-0 in the Mountain West Conference, 3-1 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
Boise State has a top 25 offense and defense this season. The Broncos are holding opponents to 16.8 points and 299.2 yards per game. Offensively, Boise is putting up 31.2 points and 476 yards per contest. Quarterback Hank Bachmeier is leading the team with 1,190 passing yards and six touchdowns. Robert Malone has 288 rushing yards and four touchdowns while CT Thomas has 14 catches for 283 yards and three scores. The defense is being led by Curtis Weaver, who has 17 tackles and six sacks.
Rebels on a slide
UNLV opened the season with a win, but the Rebels have lost three straight since. That includes a 53-17 loss at Wyoming last weekend. UNLV is 1-3 overall, 0-1 in the MWC, 2-2 against the spread and 2-2 with the over/under total.
The Rebels are struggling on both sides of the football. The offense is producing just 26 points and 376 yards per game while the defense is allowing 37.2 points and 444.5 yards per outing. UNLV has been using two quarterbacks this year in Armani Rogers and Kenyon Oblad. Rogers has thrown for 393 yards and two touchdowns while rushing for 204 yards and two scores. Oblad has 305 passing yards with a TD. Rogers is questionable to play this week due to a knee injury. Charles Williams is leading the offense with 472 rushing yards and six touchdowns while Randal Grimes has 14 catches for 175 yards and a score.
College Football Betting Trends
Boise State
The Broncos have hit the under in five straight conference games and in seven of their last eight following a win.
UNLV
The Rebels have hit the over in four straight games in October and in 20 of their last 28 home games.
Prediction:
These two have hit the over in three of their last four meetings, but I like the under for Saturday. The Rebels have failed to score more than 17 points in their last three games. If that holds, Boise State would have to put up 41 points. The Broncos have only done that once this year and that was against Portland State. Boise is more of a defensive-minded team. The Broncos have good offensive numbers, but they are more of a ball-control team if they have their way. I think they keep it conservative on the road and the total stays low.
College Football Week 6 Prediction: Boise State/UNLV Under 57
