Boston College Eagles Game Notes
Boston College junior RB David Bailey took 13 carries for 83 yards and two touchdowns in Saturday’s 48-27 win over Georgia Tech. Boston College split their carries between Bailey and Travis Levy, but Bailey was the only one finding any kind of success. Not only did Bailey’s 34-yard scoring sprint in the third quarter all but put the game away, but it finished as the longest run of the day by either team. A bigger back at 6-foot and 236-pounds, hitting stride in broad daylight is not really how he wins, so it was refreshing to see something new out of him. His previous high on the season was just 14 yards. Expect Bailey to continue splitting carries, but a couple more showings like this one could change that.
Clemson Tigers Game Notes
Clemson junior QB Trevor Lawrence has tested positive for COVID-19 and will not play on Saturday against Boston College. “Trevor has authorized us this evening to announce that he has tested positive for COVID-19 and is now in isolation,” Clemson head coach Dabo Swinney said in a statement Thursday. “He is doing well with mild symptoms but will not be available for this week’s game against Boston College.” The 6-foot-6, 220-pound quarterback is one of the top players in the sport, and is considered not only a favorite for the Heisman Trophy, but also to be the first pick in the 2021 draft. D.J. Uiagalelei or Prince Phommachanh will be under center against the Eagles on Saturday.
