BC coming off bye
Boston College is coming off a bye last week, but suffered a 38-31 loss at home to Florida State two weeks ago. The Eagles are now just 5-5 on the year, 6-4 against the spread and 8-2 with the over.
The Eagles have usually been known for a strong defense and poor offense, but that has been the opposite this year. BC is averaging 33.8 points and 483.2 yards per game on offense while giving up 32.1 points and 486.9 yards per game on defense. The Eagles have a great ground attack that is led by AJ Dillon, who has 1,451 yards and 13 scores. David Bailey has added 765 yards and seven touchdowns. Anthony Brown had thrown for 1,250 yards and nine scores, but was lost for the season to a knee injury. Dennis Grosel has taken over and thrown for 710 yards and eight scores.
Notre Dame on a hot streak
Notre Dame is riding a hot streak, as the Fighting Irish have won their last three games, including a 52-20 win at home over Navy last weekend. ND is now 8-2 on the season, 6-4 against the spread and 6-4 with the under.
The Irish have been pretty solid all year on defense, allowing just 19.3 points and 332.2 yards per game. The ND offense is putting up 36 points and 423 yards per contest. Ian Book has thrown for 2,293 yards and 26 touchdowns to lead the offense this year. Book has also rushed for 421 yards and four scores. Tony Jones Jr. is the leading rusher with 611 yards and five touchdowns, while Chase Claypool is the top receiver with 49 catches for 768 yards and nine touchdowns.
College Football Betting Trends
Boston College
The Eagles have hit the over in four straight games on fieldturf and in eight of their last 10 games following a loss.
Notre Dame
The Fighting Irish are 5-1 with the under in their last six games against ACC opponents and 9-4 with the under in their last 13 games overall.
Prediction:
These two have hit the under in seven of their last eight meetings, but ND put up 49 points in the last meeting in 2017 to hit the over. The Irish have a little offensive momentum right now, scoring 90 points over their last two games. I think more of the same will happen at home against this struggling BC defense. The Eagles have also shown an ability to score on everyone but Clemson, so I think we can expect BC to find around 20 points in this one and allow the over to hit.
College Football Week 13 Prediction: Boston College/Notre Dame Over 62.5
