On Thursday night, Miller told SI’s Pete Thamel that he is moving from quarterback to receiver for the 2015 season.

“For the most part, it’s going to be H-Back and punt return,” Miller told Thamel. “It’s a long process to get back totally to throwing and throwing every day. This is the smarter thing for right now, God blessed me with a lot of talent and different opportunities. I’m going to have fun with that and still score a lot of touchdowns and help the team out and be dominant at that.”

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Ohio State is the favorite to win the national title next season, as it has odds of +300 to win, while Alabama has odds of +750 and Auburn is listed at +900 to win.

The move makes sense for Miller and Ohio State, as the Buckeyes have a log jam at QB now following Miller missing all of last season with an injury. In his absence both J.T. Barrett and Cardale Jones emerged as great options and Miller may not have been the starting QB this upcoming season. Now, with Miller moving to WR, the questions remains who will start between Barrett and Jones. Miller is listed at 6-2, 215 pounds and his big frame and athleticism should translate well as a receiver. He also has plenty of running ability to be in the mix in that regard.
