BYU vs. TCU Free Pick
BYU has the unenviable task of playing in Fort Worth this week and taking on the No. 4 team in the nation in 6-0 TCU. Read on to check out our pick for this Week 7 matchup.
Before we get to our pick for this game, let’s check out the latest point spread.
Oddsmakers from online sports book BroburySports.com have made TCU a 29-point favorite over BYU in Week 7. The over/under total is currently 48.5 points.
The Cougars enter this game in unfamiliar territory. Usually at this point in the season, they’re undefeated or at least sporting a winning record by they’re 2-4 to start the 2010 season. They’re also 2-4 against the spread and have failed to cover in all three of their road games this year.
The Horned Frogs are 6-0 on the year and while they’re just 3-3 overall against the spread, they’ve covered in all three of their home games. They’re averaging a whopping 50.7 points per game at home and have allowed just 5.7.
The Pick:
While the road team is 4-1 against the spread in the last five meetings between these two teams, this is a different BYU team that we’re accustomed to seeing. The Cougars are 1-4 ATS in their last five road games and 1-4 ATS in their last five games overall. They’re also 2-9 ATS in their last 11 games in October and 0-6 ATS in their last six games following an ATS win.
TCU, on the other hand, is 8-2 against the number versus a team with a losing record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games in October. While 29 points is a lot to lay in a conference matchup, our pick is the Horned Frogs, who should roll.
