According to oddsmakers at MyBookie.ag, Minnesota is favored in today’s game, as the Gophers are getting odds of -5 points against Central Michigan. The over/under total for the game has been set at 48.5 points. These two meet today at 5PM ET on ESPN2. The game takes place from Ford Field in Detroit.

Rush ranks 12th nationally in passing heading into tonight’s game. The 6-3 junior has thrown for 3,703 yards and 25 touchdowns this season to go along with 10 interceptions to lead the Chippewas (7-5, 9-3 ATS). He has had a career-high in passing yards this season and also has completed 67.2 percent of his passes. Any time a MAC school can play at Big Ten opponent, the pressure is on for a big game.

The Gophers (5-7, 6-6 ATS) had an interesting year, with Jerry Kill having to step down mid-season and Tracy Claeys being promoted to the full-time head coach. Minnesota ended its season just 1-5 in its last six, but despite that, the Gophers have shown a solid pass defense. Minnesota is 14th nationally in pass defense, allowing just 182.4 yards per game. The Gophers have a challenge in slowing down Rush, who has thrown for over 300 yards in three straight and six of his last seven. Even in losses, Rush has put up big numbers. He threw for 285 yards and a touchdown in a loss to Michigan State back on Sept. 26. In last year’s bowl game, Rush had 493 passing yards with seven touchdowns, so the stage shouldn’t be too much for him to handle.
