Louisville vs. Auburn Odds
One of the featured games in college football this weekend takes place at the Georgia Dome, as No. 6 Auburn faces Louisville at 3:30PM ET on CBS.
According to oddsmakers at GTBets, Auburn is the favorite in this game, as the Tigers are getting odds of -10.5 points against Louisville. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 55.5 points. These two have no recent meetings to date back to.
Auburn was 8-5 last season and 4-4 in the SEC, but the Tigers are getting a lot of preseason picks to win the SEC. The Tigers were just 4-9 against the spread a year ago while hitting the over in 7 of 13 lined games. The Tigers have failed to cover the spread in their last four non-conference games. Gus Malzahn is in his third season as head coach. He is 20-7 in two years with the Tigers and 11-5 in SEC play. Auburn enters this season with high hopes for Jeremy Johnson at quarterback. He threw for 436 yards and three touchdowns a year ago, but is getting some early Heisman buzz for 2015.
Louisville was 9-4 on the season in 2014 while going 5-3 in the ACC. The Cardinals were 7-6 against the spread last season while hitting the under 8 times in 13 lined totals. The Cardinals have hit the under in 9 of their last 11 games in September. Bobby Petrino is in his second season of his second stint as head coach of Louisville. Petrino has been playing coy about his starting quarterback for this game, as four candidates have emerged. Both Will Gardner, Reggie Bonnafon and Kyle Bolin all saw time a year ago, but they are battling with freshman Lamar Jackson.
