Central Michigan Chippewas Game Notes

Central Michigan redshirt freshman QB Daniel Richardson completed 23-of-36 passes for 283 yards and three touchdowns in a 39-38 loss to Northern Illinois on Saturday. Richardson (5’10/205) showed today why he has the makings of a future star college quarterback. He was accurate with his passes all game and added a dynamic element to this offense, especially with a 72-yard touchdown pass to WR Kalil Pimpleton on a beautiful go route. He also led the Chippewas on a game-winning drive that fell short due to a botched snap on a field goal attempt that could have sealed the game. Having accumulated 14 touchdowns to just two interceptions so far on the season, Richardson has this Central Michigan team trending in the right direction. They have an extended break before they take on Western Michigan on Wednesday, November 3rd.

Western Michigan Broncos Game Notes

Western Michigan redshirt sophomore QB Kaleb Eleby completed 15-of-29 passes for 232 yards, no touchdowns or interceptions and ran nine times for 23 yards and a touchdown in WMU’s 34-15 loss to Toledo. Eleby moved the ball well, but struggled to capitalize on the yards. Penalties often killed drives, as did untimely sacks and fumbles and WMU went 0-for-3 on fourth down. Eleby actually had the Broncos in front going into the half, but Toledo scored 21 points in the third and WMU was shutout in the second half. Eleby’s touchdown was a QB keep to the left, and he won the race to the pylon. Eleby often looks pretty decent in these losses, but doesn’t manage finish drives consistently which leads to a lot of yards but not a lot of points in a few games. Eleby has a bye to right the ship before taking on Central Michigan on November 3rd.
