Western Michigan is now a perfect 11-0 on the season following a 38-0 win over Buffalo last week. WMU is now 7-0 in the MAC, but the Broncos can lose it all with a loss on Friday. They would not advance to the MAC Championship and have any hopes of a New Year’s 6 bowl dashed. The Broncos are 6-5 with the over this season, hitting it in three of their last four. Western has a great offense and a great defense. The Broncos are giving up just 17.7 points and 352.9 yards per game this season. They are especially tough against the pass, allowing only 198.2 yards per game through the air. Offensively, WMU is averaging 43.8 points and 508.9 yards per game. Zach Terrell has thrown for 2,890 yards and 27 touchdowns with just one interception while Corey Davis is one of the nation’s best receivers with 75 catches for 1,202 yards and 16 touchdowns. Jarvion Franklin has run for 1,228 yards and 10 touchdowns as well.
Toledo is coming off a 37-19 win over Ball State last week to move to 9-2 on the season and 6-1 in the MAC. The Rockets can advance to the MAC Championship with a win in this game. They are 6-4-1 with the under this year, going 4-0-1 with it in five straight games. Toledo has a similar makeup to WMU, as its defense gives up 22.5 points and 390.4 yards per game while its offense averages 39.2 points and 536.5 yards per contest. Quarterback Logan Woodside has thrown for 3,653 yards and 40 touchdowns to lead the offense. He also has just seven interceptions. Cody Thompson has caught 56 passes for 1,126 yards and 10 touchdowns. On the ground, Kareem Hunt has run for 1,155 yards and seven touchdowns.

This game could be a big shootout as many expect, but I think both defenses will be able to step up and get some stops. Both teams would have to near around 35 points for this over to hit and I just don’t see it happening. Both defenses will force the opposing offense to sustain drives and won’t give up the many big plays each offense has grown accustomed to.
