Bet Week 1 College Football Games
In all lined games in 2015, Clemson was 8-7 against the spread, covering by an average margin of +3.6 points per contest. In all road games, the Tigers failed to cover in three of their five games away from Clemson and as a road favorite they were 2-3 as well. Clemson was also favored in 13 of its 15 games on the year and failed to cover in seven of those 13 games.
As for Auburn, the Tigers killed backers at the betting window all season. They failed to cover in nine of their 13 games in 2015, including in three of the five games where they were an underdog. As a home dog, which is what they’ll be on Saturday night, the Tigers were 1-1 against the spread and as the home team overall, they were a brutal 1-6 at the betting window in seven contests.

OUR EARLY PICK: Assuming Deshaun Watson and Co. don’t suffer from the same lag that Tennessee (although team that is supposed to have a dangerous offense) did against Appalachian State on Thursday night, then Saturday night’s tilt in Auburn should be high-scoring. Watson is at the controls of the most explosive offenses in the nation and Clemson’s defense might not have the same pass-rush potential that it had the previous two seasons. Thus, while Auburn might go through another rough season under Gus Malzahn, the Tigers should be able to move the ball a little better against Clemson than people think. The over is 4-0 in Clemson’s lat four road games and is 8-3 in their last 11 games overall.
