UNLV vs. UCLA Prediction

After losing to Texas A&M in a wild finish last weekend, will UCLA bounce back with a rout of UNLV this Saturday at 8:00PM ET?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Bruins are 26-point home favorites versus the Rebels while the over/under is currently sitting at 62.5 points. The total hasn’t moved off the original number set by oddsmakers, but UCLA is now a full-point less of a favorite after opening at -27.

UCLA quarterback Josh Rosen took the blame following the Bruins’ 31-24 loss to Texas A&M last Saturday in overtime. The Heisman hopeful completed 26 of the 46 pass attempts he attempted while throwing for 343 yards with one touchdown and three interceptions. Senior receiver Kenneth Walker III also caught six passes for 115 yards and a touchdown in the loss.

UNLV kicked off its 2016 season with a 63-13 thrashing of Jacksonville State last Saturday, covering as a 40-point favorite. Johnny Stanton completed 10-of-12 passes for 217 yards and a three touchdowns in the win, while Devonte Boyd caught four passes for 135 yards and all three of Stanton’s touchdown passes. It was the Rebels’ first victory in their opener season 2009.

OUR EARLY PICK: The biggest issue for the Bruins last Saturday at Kyle Field was the Aggies’ incredible pass rush. Rosen didn’t have much time to throw and one of his interceptions was the result of him being forced to take his eyes off the defense to retrieve a botched snap. UCLA’s offensive line shouldn’t have as many issues as it did last weekend and with the Bruins 12-3 against the spread in their last 15 games versus Mountain West opponents, Jim Mora’s squad should cover.
