Cincinnati Bearcats Game Notes
Emory Jones was 22-for-41 passing for 235 yards and two interceptions during Saturday’s 20-6 loss versus Oklahoma. He also had 15 rushes for 42 yards. Jones had plenty of opportunity against the Sooners, but failed to record at least one score for the first time this year. Due to the rushing production, Jones has a nice floor from a fantasy standpoint. He has double-digit carries in each of his last three games. Jones should have a much better performance in primetime against BYU next Friday.
BYU Cougars Game Notes
Kedon Slovis was 30-for-51 passing for 357 yards, two touchdowns and two interceptions during Saturday’s 38-27 defeat to Kansas. He also had five rushes for -24 yards. Slovis committed two costly turnovers against the Jayhawks, one which was returned for a touchdown. BYU’s offense couldn’t keep up with Kansas as Slovis attempted a season-high 51 passes but completed just 58.8 percent of them. The journeyman quarterback does have at least two touchdown passes in each of his last three games. He’ll look to keep that streak alive against Cincinnati next week.

Cincinnati vs. BYU Betting Prediction
I think this game will be won and lost on third down. Cincinnati has struggled some defensively this season, but BYU has been awful on third down. The Cougars don’t have a rushing attack, as evidence by their nine rushing yards against Kansas last week. If BYU wants to turn this game into a shootout, Cincinnati will oblige. But when it comes to picking up key first downs late, I don’t think BYU will come through. Give me the Bearcats.
