The Odds
According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Tigers are 10.5-point home favorites versus the Seminoles after opening as 12.5-point favorites. The total, meanwhile, is currently sitting at 55 points.
The Records
Florida State has one loss on the year, which came two weeks ago to Georgia Tech, which beat the Seminoles on a last-second blocked field goal. FSU is 7-1 on the year and 4-4 against the spread, while Clemson is a perfect 8-0 straight up and 5-3 at the betting window.
The Pick
Earlier this week FSU coach Jimbo Fisher said running back Dalvin Cook and quarterback Everett Golson have been cleared to play for today’s game. Fisher also declined to name Golson his starter, saying both Golson and Sean Maguire are available to play. The key here is that Cook, who missed last Saturday’s game versus Syracuse, will play. He means everything to FSU’s offense and gives the Seminoles their only shot of upsetting an outstanding Clemson team. The pressure is on the Tigers, who currently hold the top spot in the initial college football playoff rankings. Look for FSU to play lose and to keep this game closer than most think.
