According to oddsmakers from online sports book Mybookie.ag, the Blue Devils are 12.5-point home favorites versus the Hurricanes after opening as a 10-point favorite. The total, meanwhile, opened at 46 and has been bet up to 49.5.
The Records
Miami is 4-3 straight up and now 4-3 against the spread after getting pummeled 58-0 last week by Clemson. As for Duke, the Blue Devils are 6-1 straight up after beating Virginia Tech in a four-overtime thriller last week in Blacksburg. They’re also 5-2 at the betting window this season.
The Pick
Miami is a mess. It fired Al Golden following their embarrassing loss to Clemson last week and will be without starting quarterback Brad Kaaya, who suffered a concussion versus the Tigers. With Kaaya out, backup Malik Rosier will start after completing just 7-of-22 passes with two interceptions last Sunday versus Clemson. Things won’t get any easier tonight for Rosier, who faces the No. 9 ranked defense in the nation in Duke, which is allowing just 281.3 total yards per game this season. The Blue Devils are also giving up just 14.1 points per game, which is sixth in the country.
