Watson remains Heisman favorite
The spring football season is upon us with the 2016 season not too far off. Can DeShaun Watson maintain his hype from 2015 and be the Heisman winner next fall?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Watson is currently listed as the favorite to win the Heisman, as he has 3/1 odds while Christian McCaffrey of Stanford and Leonard Fournette of LSU each have 4/1 odds to win.
Watson led Clemson to the ACC Championship and a spot in the College Football Playoffs. He finished the season with 4,104 passing yards and 35 touchdowns while rushing for 1,105 yards and 12 scores. He threw for 187 yards and a score while rushing for 145 yards and a TD in the semifinal win over Oklahoma and then had 405 passing yards with four touchdowns and 73 rushing yards in the championship loss to Alabama.

When it came to the 2015 Heisman voting, Watson finished third with 1,165 total points while Alabama’s Derrick Henry won with 1,832. McCaffrey actually finished second ahead of Watson with 1,539. Watson will return a lot of talent on offense this season, but a lot of pressure will be on him to duplicate, if not better, his 2015 numbers.
