College Football Odds 3/19/16 –Ohio State looking at spring in Florida

Ohio State may copy Michigan

Don’t look for Urban Meyer to try and credit Michigan and Jim Harbaugh often, but the Ohio State coach is looking to copy a recent move by his rival.

Meyer took notice of the move by Harbaugh to take his football team to Florida for a week of spring practice while opening the doors for high school coaches and players in the south to watch in hopes of attracting new recruits. Now Ohio State wants in.

“I think it’s creative,” Meyer told WUFT-TV last week when asked about what Michigan did. “I’m looking into it for next year and maybe the future, too. It’s creative, and if it’s good for the players, we’ll probably do it.”

Ohio State is coming off a 12-1 season in which it was unable to win the Big Ten Championship due to a home loss to Michigan State. Still, the Buckeyes wound up with a Fiesta Bowl win over Notre Dame and finished fourth in the season-ending rankings. Ohio State won the first-ever College Football Playoffs in the 2014 season.
