College Football Odds 5/23/16 – California adds transfer QB Davis Webb

Cal lands Davis Webb

The Cal Bears may have lost the No. 1 pick in the NFL Draft at quarterback, but the Golden Bears seem to have found a good replacement for him.

It was announced last week that former Texas Tech QB Davis Webb is transferring to Cal for the upcoming season and he will be eligible to play right away since he is a graduate transfer. That should allow a much smoother transition from Goff, as Webb is a veteran QB that is accustomed to throwing the ball often.

Webb played significant time in 2013 and 2014 for Tech, throwing for over 5,000 yards and 40 touchdowns in those two seasons. Last year, Webb lost out on the starting job and only threw for 300 yards. Cal is coming off an 8-5 season in 2015 where it went 4-5 in the Pac-12. The team is in its third year with Sonny Dykes as head coach. He has went 14-23 in those three seasons.
