The over/under total for the contest has been set at 56.5 points. Clemson has won four straight with Syracuse and the two have hit the under in four of their last five meetings. Friday’s game will take place from the Carrier Dome in Syracuse, New York. The contest will air live on ESPN.

Clemson is off to a 6-0 start this year with a 4-0 mark in the ACC following a 28-14 win over Wake Forest at home. The Tigers are 4-2 with the under this year, hitting it in their last three games. The Tigers have a great defense that is holding opponents to just 11.3 points and 264.3 yards per game. On offense, Clemson is putting up 35 points and 471 yards per contest. The unit has a balanced attack behind quarterback Kelly Bryant. He has thrown for 1,259 yards and four touchdowns while rushing for 401 yards and seven touchdowns. Travis Etienne and Tavien Feaster have combined for 710 rushing yards and seven touchdowns.
Syracuse is 3-3 on the season following the 27-24 win over Pitt. The Orange are 1-1 in the ACC and 5-1 with the under. The Orange are putting up 32 points and 466.8 yards per game, including 325 passing yards per contest. Eric Dungey has thrown for 1,802 yards and nine touchdowns while Steve Ishmael has caught 56 passes for 729 yards and three scores. Dungey is also the team’s leading rusher with 325 yards and eight touchdowns. Defensively, Syracuse is allowing just 24.3 points and 357.7 yards per game.
The Clemson defense is one of the best in the country and I expect the Tigers to be able to contain Dungey from doing too much. The Syracuse defense isn’t too bad either, so I see Clemson having some trouble scoring at times. The Tigers should win comfortably but I see the scoring for this game capping somewhere in the high 40s or low 50s.
