Is No. 6 Washington set to have a low-scoring game with Fresno State when the two meet up this Saturday night at 9:30PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington is the heavy favorite at home in this game, as the Huskies are getting odds of -33 points against the Bulldogs. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 56.5 points. These two last met in 2006 with Washington getting a 21-20 victory at home. Saturday’s game will take place from Husky Stadium in Seattle, Washington and will air live on the Pac-12 Network.

Washington has started the season 2-0 with a 30-14 win over Rutgers on the road and a 63-7 home win over Montana. The Huskies are 1-1 with the over/under total. Washington is averaging 46.5 points and 437 yards per game on offense while allowing just 10.5 points and 236 yards per contest on defense. Jake Browning has thrown for 543 yards and four touchdowns to lead the offense while Dante Pettis has seven catches for 117 yards. Myles Gaskin has added 97 rushing yards with a touchdown.
Fresno State started the season with a 66-0 win over Incarnate Word and then suffered a 41-10 loss at Alabama last week. The Bulldogs are also 1-1 with the over/under total. These two games have been on the opposite ends of the football spectrum as comparing them against the worst of Incarnate Word is difficult, but so is comparing them against the best in Alabama. Still, they are averaging 38 points and 443.5 yards per game on offense through two games while allowing 20.5 points and 311 yards per game on defense. Chason Virgil has been leading the offense with 426 yards and two touchdowns passing. KeeSean Johnson has caught 15 passes for 175 yards while Ronnie Rivers is the leading rusher with 89 yards.
Bet on Fresno State vs. Washington
The Washington defense doesn’t get as much credit as it should The Huskies have looked very good thus far against some poor offenses, but it is a carry over from the good numbers the unit had a year ago. The Huskies face another struggling offense in Fresno State this week. The Bulldogs should struggle to move the ball in a similar way they did with Alabama. Jake Browning and company should be able to score some points on offense, but I don’t see them doing enough to carry the total. If Fresno is held to 14 or less, hitting the over will be difficult.
