College Football Picks: Can Ohio State vs. Nebraska go over? 10/11/17

Ohio State vs. Nebraska Total Pick

Can No. 9 Ohio State continue their offensive surge when they go on the road to face Nebraska on Saturday at 7:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Ohio State is favored on the road, as the Buckeyes are getting odds of -24 points against Nebraska. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 58 points. Ohio State has won its last two meetings with Nebraska and these two have hit the over in their last three encounters. Saturday’s game takes place from Memorial Stadium in Lincoln, Nebraska and will air live on FS1.

NCAA FB QUICK LINKS: Scores & Matchups | Injuries | Odds Comparison | Betting Trends | ATS Stats | Standings

Ohio State is 5-1 this season and 3-0 in the Big Ten following a 62-14 win over Maryland. The Buckeyes are 4-2 with the over this year, hitting it in both road games as well. Ohio State has a great defense that is allowing just 15.7 points and 290.7 yards per game. On offense, Ohio State is putting up 45.8 points and 568 yards per game on offense. J.T. Barrett has thrown for 1,513 yards and 16 touchdowns with just one INT. He also has run for 311 yards and three scores while J.K. Dobbins has 669 rushing yards with four scores.

Nebraska is coming off a 38-17 loss at home to Wisconsin to fall to 3-3 on the season and 2-1 in the Big Ten. The Huskers are 3-3 with the over/under on the year and 2-2 with the over/under at home. Nebraska is averaging just 27.8 points and 384.3 yards per game on offense. Tanner Lee is leading the offense with 1,406 yards and 11 touchdowns, but also has 10 interceptions. Stanley Morgan Jr. has 30 receptions for 510 yards and five touchdowns while Devine Ozigbo has 327 rushing yards. Defensively, Nebraska is giving up 26.7 points and 355.8 yards per contest.

Bet on Ohio State vs. Nebraska

Scoring hasn’t been an issue for Ohio State on the road, as the Buckeyes have put up 49 at Indiana and 56 at Rutgers. Nebraska hasn’t necessarily been great on defense at home. The Huskers gave up 38 last week to a Wisconsin offense that is much more simple than what Ohio State can do. I expect the Buckeyes to continue to stack up the points without much resistance. I also think the Huskers will manage some points along the way, maybe in garbage time.
