Will No. 3 Clemson find itself in a shootout when it takes on No. 12 Florida State this Saturday at 8PM ET?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Clemson is favored on the road in this game, as the Tigers are getting odds of -4.5 points against the Seminoles. The over/under total for the game is listed at 60 points. Florida State has won three of the last four meetings with Clemson and the two have hit the under in their last two encounters.
Bet on Clemson vs. Florida State
Clemson is coming a bye week, but the Tigers last played N.C. State back on Oct. 15. The Tigers got a scare at home, but picked up a 24-17 OT win over N.C. State to move to 7-0 on the season and 4-0 in the ACC. The Tigers are 5-2 with the under this season as their offense hasn’t been quite as prolific as usual. Despite not being as strong as 2015, Clemson still averages 36.6 points and 474.3 yards per game. Deshaun Watson has thrown for 1,950 yards and 20 touchdowns this season while also running for 279 yards. Mike Williams is the leading receiver with 578 yards on 39 receptions. The Clemson defense has been very impressive in 2016, as the Tigers are holding opponents to just 15.3 points and 298.6 yards per game. They are giving up just 166.1 passing yards per contest.
Florida State also is coming off a bye. The Seminoles defeated Wake Forest 17-6 back on Oct. 15 to improve to 5-2 on the year and 2-2 in the ACC. The Seminoles are 3-3 in six lined totals in 2016, but have hit the under in three straight. FSU has an offense that is putting up 34.9 points and 484.7 yards per game, but the defense is allowing 28.9 points and 388.6 yards per game. The offense is led by a star back in Dalvin Cook, who has rushed for 900 yards and seven touchdowns. Deondre Francois has thrown for 1,876 yards and 10 touchdowns as well.

FSU isn’t quite an offensive power right now, as it has been held to 20 points or less in its last two games. Clemson has a very stingy defense that should be able to limit Cook’s damage and keep FSU from putting up a big number. I don’t think the Seminoles can necessarily do the same to Clemson, but the Tigers just aren’t lightning up the scoreboard a lot this season. I think this game goes with the under due to a lack of consistent offense.
