According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Oregon is favored to beat Ohio State in Monday’s 8:30PM ET game from AT&T Stadium. The Ducks are getting odds of -7 points against the Buckeyes. The over/under total for the game has been listed at 75.5 points. When it comes to each team’s scoring, Oregon’s points have an over/under listing of 41.5 points, while Ohio State’s point total odds have been listed at 34 points.
The Ducks averaged 47.2 points per game this season and then they posted an impressive 59 points against Florida State in the semifinal. The Ducks posted 42 points or more in 12 of their 14 games, including their last eight games. When you consider this game is also indoors, it is hard to think their offense will be slowed down much. The Ohio State defense allowed just 22.1 points per game this season, but they did it against a rather lackluster schedule of opposing offenses. Certainly nothing like what the Buckeyes will see against the Ducks. Ohio State gave up 35 points to Alabama in the semifinal and they haven’t allowed 40 points to any opponent this season.
Bet on College Football National Championship Odds
The Ohio State offense has been right up there with Oregon all season, averaging 45 points per game. The Buckeyes scored 34 points or more in 12 of their 14 games this season and they have eclipsed that total in four straight. Their last two games saw them post 59 points on Wisconsin and 42 points on Alabama, doing so with a third-string quarterback in Cardale Jones. The Oregon defense has allowed just 22.3 points per game this season and faced some dynamic offenses in the Pac-12. The Ducks have only allowed 34 points or more one time this season, in a win over Cal. Oregon held Florida State to just 20 points in the semifinal.
