Jim Harbaugh and the Michigan Wolverines are making plenty of waves in the college football world once again. This time, it’s for spring break.

The Wolverines have elected to begin their spring practices this week, but are doing it in Bradenton, Florida at the IMG Academy as part of the students’ spring break. Harbaugh has a chance to put the Wolverine name on display for all Florida high school coaches and potential recruits. Some have come out strong against the move, mostly the SEC, while others like Florida State’s Jimbo Fisher has given Harbaugh praise for the move.

“I applaud the guy,” Fisher said Tuesday in the Palm Beach Post. “He’s doing things he has to do to be successful. Jim beat the rules. That’s fine. I applaud Jim for trying to do something different.”

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Michigan is currently listed with 12/1 odds to win the College Football Playoffs next season. They have Alabama listed as the favorite with 5/1 odds. Michigan is tied for the fourth-shortest odds with LSU and Ohio State.

Harbaugh invited all Florida high school coaches to one of the practices and has made Thursday’s practice open to everyone. Some other college coaches have teased that maybe they would attend. Either way, Harbaugh is earning plenty of media mentions this week for doing something new. He is coming off a 10-3 season in his debut with the Wolverines, but Michigan was 6-2 in the Big Ten with losses to rivals Michigan State and Ohio State.
