College Football Predictions: How many wins will USC rack up? 7/13/17

USC Trojans Win Total Prediction

How many victories will the USC Trojans rack up in 2017? Will they go over or under their projected win total?

According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Trojans have an over/under of 10.5 for number of wins in 2017. The team is coming off a 10-3 season in 2016, with all three of its losses coming in the first month of the season. USC took it on the chin against then-No. 1 Alabama (52-6), then-No. 7 Stanford (27-10), and then-No. 24 Utah (31-27) before closing the season on a 9-0 run. Their capped their season with a thrilling 52-49 victory over Penn State in the Rose Bowl.

Bet College Football Futures Odds

USC’s 2017 schedule opens on September 2 when it hosts Western Michigan. That’s the first game of a three-game home set to open the Trojans’ season. They’ll also play in L.A. against Stanford and Texas before hitting the road for the first time on September 23 when they play Cal. The following week they’ll play at Washington State.

Home dates against Oregon State and Utah open the October scheduled, followed by road games at Notre Dame and Arizona State. The Trojans will close out their regular-season schedule against Arizona at home, Colorado on the road, and against in-state rival UCLA at home on November 18.

College Football Win Total Prediction: This total is set perfectly at 10.5 In quarterback Sam Darnold and running back Ronald Jones II, the Trojans have one of the best backfields in the nation. But the concerns along the offensive line are real. They lost three starters so it’s fair to question whether or not USC’s offensive line will fire on all cylinders right out of the gates.

That said, USC has more depth and experience than it did a year ago and Darnold is a true difference maker. There’s a chance they could lose two games at some point, but I also wouldn’t be shocked to see the Trojans run the table. I’ll roll the dice on the over.
