College Football Predictions: Stanford vs. Washington State 11/4/17

Stanford vs. Washington St. Pick

Will No. 18 Stanford be able to pick up a big win on the road today when it takes on No. 25 Washington State in Pac-12 action at 3:30PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Washington State is favored at home, as the Cougars are getting odds of -1 point against the Cardinal. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 55 points. Stanford has won eight of the last nine meetings with Washington State, but the Cougars have covered the spread in the last two encounters. The public is currently putting 66 percent of the wagers on Washington State at home. Today’s game takes place from Martin Stadium in Pullman, Washington and the contest will air live on FOX.

Washington State is coming off a 58-37 loss at Arizona last week to fall to 7-2 on the season. The Cougars are 4-2 in the Pac-12 and 5-4 against the spread, including 5-1 ATS at home. Washington State has a pretty solid defense in 2017, as the Cougars are allowing just 22.9 points and 308.6 yards per contest. Their pass defense is giving up just 167.3 yards per game. Offensively, Washington State is putting up 34 points and 471.6 yards per contest. Most of the offense comes through the air, as Luke Falk has thrown for 2,576 yards and 23 touchdowns this year. Tavares Martin Jr. is the leading receiver with 48 catches for 638 yards and seven touchdowns while Jamal Morrow has 413 rushing yards and three scores.

Stanford is riding a five-game win streak right now following a 15-14 victory at Oregon State last week. The Cardinal are now 6-2 on the season and 5-1 in the Pac-12. They have posted a 3-4-1 record against the spread, including a 1-3-1 mark ATS on the road. Stanford is averaging 35.3 points and 427.4 yards per game on offense this season. Bryce Love has been the focal point of the offense with 1,387 yards and 11 touchdowns on the ground. However, he missed last week’s game with an ankle injury and is questionable to play today as well. Keller Chryst has just 962 passing yards with eight touchdowns and four interceptions for Stanford.

Bet on Stanford vs. Washington State

Stanford has had a nice run lately, but the Cardinal are struggling on the road this season and they could be without the majority of their offense. We saw what happened when Stanford doesn’t have Love when they barely beat Oregon State last week. Washington State has had an up-and-down month, but the Cougars are pretty tough at home. I expect them to move the ball consistently enough to pull away from the Cardinal.
