UTSA vs. Texas A&M Prediction

Will No. 25 Texas A&M have an easy time today when they step out of conference play to host Texas-San Antonio at Noon ET?

According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, Texas A&M is favored heavily in this game, as the Aggies are getting odds of -27.5 points against the Roadrunners. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 57.5 points. These two have no recent meetings to consider.

Bet on UTSA vs. Texas A&M

Texas A&M can use the break, as they have lost two straight coming into this game. The Aggies are now 7-3 on the season but just 4-6 against the spread. They also have failed to cover in six straight. A&M has been struggling on defense as of late. They are giving up just 22.2 points per game this season, but also giving up 445.6 yards per game. They have allowed at least 29 points in four of their last five games. Offensively, A&M is putting up 36.3 points and 471.4 yards per contest. The Aggies have lost QB Trevor Knight for the season due to a shoulder injury. He threw for 1,911 yards and 13 touchdowns and ran for 583 yards and 10 scores this season. Jake Hubenak has taken over. He has thrown for 563 yards and five touchdowns in his limited action. Trayveon Williams is the team’s leading rusher with 876 yards and six scores.

Texas-San Antonio is coming off a 63-35 loss at Louisiana Tech las week. The Roadrunners are now 5-5 on the year and 4-6 against the spread. They are just 1-4 against the spread on the road this season. UTSA is giving up 30.3 points and 413.2 yards per game, including 170 rushing yards per game. Offensively, the Roadrunners are putting up 31.6 points and 374.5 yards per game. QB Dalton Sturm has thrown for 1,748 yards and 16 touchdowns while also rushing for 253 yards. UTSA has a great run game as Jalen Rhodes and Jarveon Williams have combined for 1,384 yards and 16 touchdowns on the ground.

Texas A&M will be looking forward to this break from SEC action. The Aggies could use a good performance before they take on LSU next week. I like Texas A&M to win big as their offense, even with a backup, should be able to move the ball with ease. The Aggies’ defense also should be able to keep UTSA in check as well.
