College Football Predictions: Wyoming vs. Boise State 10/19/17

Wyoming vs. Boise State Pick

Can Boise State build off a nice win last week when it plays host to Wyoming when the two meet up on Saturday at 10:15PM ET?

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Boise State is favored at home, as the Broncos are getting odds of -14 points against the Cowboys. The over/under total for the contest is listed at 45.5 points. Boise State has won nine of the last 10 meetings in this series and Wyoming has covered the spread in the last two encounters. The public is currently putting 51 percent of the wagers on Wyoming on the road. Saturday’s game takes place from Albertsons stadium in Boise, Idaho and will air live on ESPN2.

Wyoming is coming off a 28-23 win at Utah State last week to improve to 3-2 on the season and 2-0 in the Mountain West Conference. The Cowboys are 3-3 against the spread, covering in their last three games. Wyoming has a solid defense that is allowing just 21.2 points and 348.5 yards per game. The offense is struggling, posting only 24 points and 284 yards per contest. Josh Allen had a lot of hype coming into the season, but has thrown for just 1,085 yards and seven touchdowns with four interceptions while completing just 57.6 percent of his passes. Trey Woods is the leading rusher with 285 yards and a score while Austin Conway has 31 receptions for 252 yards and two touchdowns.

Boise State is coming off a 31-14 win at San Diego State last week. The Broncos are 4-2 this season and 2-0 in the Mountain West. They also have posted a 4-2 record against the spread, but are 1-2 ATS at home. Boise is averaging 29 points and 336 yards per game on offense this season. Bretty Rypien has thrown for 718 yards and two touchdowns with three interceptions while Montell Cozart has 486 passing yards and 208 rushing yards. Alexander Mattison is the leading rusher with 412 yards and five touchdowns while Cedrick Wilson has 34 receptions for 588 yards and three touchdowns. Defensively, Boise State is holding opponents to 22.8 points and 324.7 yards per game.

Bet on Wyoming vs. Boise State

Boise State has been playing well lately, but the trends aren’t on their side. The Broncos are 3-13 against the spread in their last 16 home games and 2-6 ATS in their last eight conference games. Wyoming is 10-2 against the spread in its last 12 conference games and 10-1 ATS in its last 11 games in October. Wyoming has a defense that can keep this game competitive. I think the Cowboys will make it interesting.
