College Receiving TD Props
LAS VEGAS, NV (TheSpread) – Which of the top receivers in College Football will come up with the most receiving touchdowns in the 2015 season?
According to oddsmakers at BetDSI, five receivers are listed in this category. Both Corey Coleman of Baylor and Juju Smith of USC are listed with over/unders of 12.5 touchdown receptions. Other receivers listed are Sterling Shepard (10.5) of Oklahoma, Laquon Treadwell (9.5) of Ole Miss and Tyler Boyd (9.5) of Pittsburgh.
In the 2014 season, Rashard Higgins of Colorado State grabbed the most touchdown receptions at 17 and six receivers had 13 or more TD catches.
Coleman led Baylor in receiving last year, grabbing 11 TDs with a total of 64 receptions for 1,119 yards. However, he is breaking in a new quarterback this year.
Smith caught 54 passes in 2014 for 724 yards with five touchdowns. With the loss of Nelson Agholor to the NFL, Smith now becomes the top target for Heisman contender Cody Kessler.
Shepard led Oklahoma last season with 51 catches and 970 yards, but he had just five touchdown receptions. It’s hard to see more than double that in one season.
Treadwell had 48 receptions for 632 yards with five touchdowns as a sophomore last season. His role should increase, but 10 touchdown catches may be hard to get.
Boyd was pretty much the lone target Pitt had last year, catching 78 passes for 1,261 yards and eight touchdowns. He should be able to continue to put up big numbers this season.
